Our Fundraising Drive
That is our goal!
Under our Joint Use Agreement with LA Unified School District for our garden grounds, we are required to make certain capital improvements.
In connection with this requirement, we have developed an ambitious site plan, designed to, among other things, bring our garden into ADA compliance.
When the improvements are complete, we will have park-like atmosphere featuring:
safe walking paths
The expected timeline outlined below commences once funding is acquired (currently anticipated for January 2020):
Step 1: Project Preparation - clear the property of existing materials, hire a project manager, seek bids and select contracted services (1-2 months)
Step 2: Land Preparation - secured temporary storage, finish clearing the property, disconnect irrigation, complete preliminary grading, survey the property and complete final grading (2-3 months)
Step 3: Land Development - install pathway, reconnect irrigation, install new gate, install new lighting (1 month)
Step 4: Facilities Development - improve/replace storage facilities, install/improve seating (1-2 months)

We anticipate it will take until approximately the end of 2019/beginning of 2020 to meet our fundraising goal.
To meet the fundraising goal, we will seek a professional grant writer/fundraiser. After that, we will execute the fundraiser’s plan, collect money and commence work.
