Cinco de Mayo - Big Sunday

Join the fun as we partner with the Big Sunday volunteer organization. We provide refreshments, free Big Sunday t-shirts, music as you participate in our beautification project. Then enjoy free lunch of tacos, beans, and rice at 12:15 pm. Meet new garden loving folks. Some of the projects we need your help with are painting our three aging storage units and decorating wrought iron sculptures. Learn gardening tips.

If you can’t join us on Sunday, please come on Saturday, May 4th from 9 am to noon, as we prepare our storage units for their cosmetic makeover on Sunday.

The Emerson Avenue Community Garden Club is located on the Orville Wright/STEAM Magnet property, Emerson Avenue at 80th Place. There is plenty of free street parking. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.

Visit our Gardening Tips Table at the entrance to the garden. Master Gardener Dana H. Morgan will be on hand to discuss different strategies for growing organic tomatoes and other seasonal vegetables. A diverse selection of heirloom tomatoes of many colors and sizes -- and a few other seedlings -- will be available for adoption. Donations are warmly received.
