Come learn how to grow your own food organically. In this time of water use awareness, we will focus on how to save water while building soil to grow healthy crops. Classes are led by UCCE Master Gardeners. Contact Beth Crosse (coordinator) email@example.com for information.
Four Sunday classes in October held at the Emerson Avenue Community Garden. Class size limited to 20. Each class has a different focus plus a hands on activity. Series attendees will receive a UC Certified Victory Garden certificate.
Topics covered: building soil; planning and preparing your garden; choosing plants and seeds; composting; handling weeds and pests; watering wisely; seeds saving; harvesting; and much more.
Registration for this series of four workshops is below using a PayPal donation: $55 non-plot holders; $50 EACGC plot holders; $95 for a couple.

Class #1 GETTING STARTED / SOIL BUILDING
Soil and nutrients; composting and worm composting,; water conservation and irrigation strategies. Hands on soil test plus building and maintaining a worm bin.
Classes are supported by University of California Cooperative Extension of Los Angeles County and Emerson Avenue Community Garden Club.
