Hands-on Learning, Beginners Welcome!
Come learn about choosing tomato varieties, starting seeds indoors, and controlling pests and diseases organically. We’ll also discuss harvesting, storing, and preserving tomatoes. Hands on: plant tomato seeds, transplant seedlings, and save tomato seeds. Instructors: UCCE Master Gardeners Dana H. Morgan and Lucinda Zimmermann. They will share techniques for growing tomatoes in coastal Los Angeles. A board member of Emerson Ave. Community Garden, Dana is also active with SLOLA (Seed Library of Los Angeles) and LABB (Los Angeles Bread Bakers).
